Ali Williams is a highly experienced fitness professional who has been practising Pilates since 1990. She started her training at Jane Paris' studio in Edinburgh, successfully combining an apprenticeship in Pilates with her undergraduate studies in Biochemistry. After graduating, Ali taught at Chris Blagdon's studio before opening Pilates Studio Edinburgh in 2002. The studio is now a popular venue for those wishing to practise Pilates for sport, fitness, posture and rehabilitation.
Ali also has experience in Personal Fitness Training and is qualified in Thai Massage. She brings a wealth of experience to her teaching which makes for a more diverse and interesting workout!
Ali was originally trained as a Pilates Foundation Teacher and was a member of the Pilates Foundation Ltd until 2015, where its aim is to create a governing body that would nurture and ensure the highest standards in the profession. The Pilates Foundation offers the highest form of training in Pilates. However, in 2015, Ali decided to leave the foundation to join the IPTA (Independent Pilates Teachers Association).
Ali has had many well known celebrities and sports people visit her studio over the years such as Sian Phillips, the much credited Bafta Award-winning actress loves being taught by Ali, when she's up in Edinburgh performing on stage. Jason White, former Scottish Rugby Captain has also had several Studio sessions; he commented that he throughly enjoyed his classes with Ali and will be back when he next visits Edinburgh.
